Why I love goal setting

When I’m feeling stuck or overwhelmed I think goal setting can be really useful.

But if you attempt too many major lifestyle changes all at once it is often not sustainable long-term. Here’s how to break it down to make it more manageable.

Connect with what you really want to do
Ask yourself what would actually feel good to you and what would work with your current lifestyle. Small changes are more sustainable over long periods and can go a long way towards your confidence, self belief and progress.

Take things slowly

Building new habits takes time. When you work on changing your habits slowly, you not have more chances of success, but you give your brain a chance to cement new behaviours into your routine.

Break down goals into bite-size chunks
It’s exciting to set new goals and to have something to work towards, but it’s important to make a plan for your goal so you don’t get overwhelmed and abandon it. Break goals down into small bite size pieces that you can action and build off of, instead of trying to do everything at once.
