New class: Lunchtime Circuits Club in Hinksey Park

Want to get fit and enjoy some fresh air at the same time? This April I’m taking my regular Circuits Club class outside and into Hinksey Park, Oxford.

From Monday, April 15 I’ll be running two weekly outdoor classes in the park, from 12:30-1:15pm, every Monday and Wednesday (term time only).

Lunchtime Circuits Club is a great excuse to take a desk break, get some fresh air, move your body and get fitter and stronger. I’ve made the class 45 minutes rather than an hour so that those of you with strict office hours can get back in time for all those meetings!

Circuits Club is a high impact workout with a mix of strength training and cardio moves. All equipment is provided (think bodyweight, battle ropes, agility ladders and resistance bands) and I change the exercises every session so there’s no chance of getting bored.

Research has shown that ‘green exercise’ (workouts in nature) not only boost health and fitness, it can improve concentration and mood and reduce stress levels and anxiety.

Where:

Meet in Hinksey Park off Abingdon Road (OX1 4RP) at the end of the car park by the cycle path at 12:30pm, every Monday and Wednesday. Classes are £12 per person. You can sign up for a bundle of sessions or just pay as you go on the day.

Weather:

Classes will run whatever the weather and if we need to take shelter we can go under the big trees by the bike path.

Parking:

There is a big car park in HInksey Park, as well as some cycle racks at the end of the car park.

Term dates:

  • Mon 15 April

  • Wed 17 April

  • Mon 22 April

  • Wed 24 April

  • Mon 29 April

  • Wed 1 May

  • No class Mon 6 May (Bank Holiday)

If you’re wondering what is a circuits class like, it’s fun and fast paced and great way to improve cardiovascular fitness and overall health. When combined with a healthy diet, and in particular a calorie deficit, it can be can effective tool for weight loss.

And if you’re new to exercise or haven’t been to a class for a while, it’s a fun way to get back into it and meet a friendly bunch of people.

Please note, from Friday, April 19, my Friday Circuits Club class will be held in The Gill Garratt Room in South Oxford Community Centre, Lake Street (rather than The White House pub).

If you have any questions about Circuits Club, feel free to email me at Hello@MaddyPT.co.uk.

I also offer 1:1 personal training packages, as well as small group training and online workouts. Get in touch if you want to find out more.
